One of my favorite songs with lots of fond memories. Interesting snippet details the recording methods used in making the first Generation X album and in particular “Kiss Me Deadly”. Lots of flashes of cool analog gear. Love the discussion about doing more with less.

Man, what a shocker. Lou Reed gone. I wish I could’ve seen him live, but it was before my time. I remember the first time I heard the Velvet Underground, it was just about the time that I started to broaden my cultural horizons, I reckon. He was like having a crazy musical uncle who told you about weird secret stuff and your mom always would tell him to stop telling you about weird secret stuff that you were too young to hear about. He will be missed. Here’s the first songs I ever heard by the Velvet Underground.

“There She Goes Again” by the Velvet Underground

“Femme Fatale” by The Velvet Underground and Nico

“Sweet Jane” by the Velvet Undergound

If I had to pick a cover version, I’d have to pick this one by one of my favorite bands in the world, the Beat Farmers.

I’m proud and privileged to share something new and exciting! Gretsch Guitars has asked me to be part of the Gretsch Family, as an emerging artist with Ruby Dee and The Snakehandlers.  What can I say? I’m stoked. You can view my artist page at Gretsch Guitars following this link.
