Here’s the latest with Ruby Dee and The Snakehandlers – read on…

Howdy friends and fans! It’s official, so we can finally say it here: ROCKABILLY PLAYGROUND, our most recent release on Dionysus Records, is on the ballot for the 56th Grammy Awards for both Best Americana Album and Best Children’s Album!! To all our NARAS associates out there: please do consider this fun album on the ballot! And to everyone else: thank you so much for helping make this happen. The album charted at #15 on the FAR charts and #103 on the AMA charts. The album is also now available on iTunes. Not bad!

And we’re so excited about this, we can’t wait to tell you about it: Australia, here we come!! We are playing at the infamous Brisbane Greazefest Sunday August 3rd, 2014. Additionally, we’re putting together a nice little tour down under across Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and other locales. Tour dates will be up on our calendar soon, so stay tuned, mates!

Gretsch guitar - That Great Gretsch Sound Logo

There’s so much news, this piece certainly doesn’t merit being third on the list. This too is official: Jorge Harada is a Gretsch Guitar endorsee!! It will take a little time before they can create his profile on their website, but they’ve told us to announce it. And what this means is that Jorge has created enough of a stir in the Gretsch Guitar world to be someone of standing in the community and merit inclusion in the Gretsch family. Go, Jorge, go!!

Last but not least, we’re looking forward to playing a whole bunch of really fun, rockin’ dates coming up over the next few months, including our first time ever across the border in Canada with pals Ollie Vee! Following up their tour in the US, this authentic western style rockabilly band invited us north to play their record release events in Hamilton and Toronto as a part of the band! It’s the Ollie Vee and Ruby Dee Show! For other shows, please check our calendar to find out where and when we’ll be playing near you 🙂
